EuroMed Permanent Virtual Exhibition and Business Directory
In 1995 the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of 15 EU members and 14 Mediterranean partners launched the Barcelona Process, a framework to manage bilateral and regional relations. The process became the basis of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, which evolved into the Union for the Mediterranean. The underlying goal of the Barcelona Process is to create peace, security and shared prosperity throughout the Mediterranean.
The Euro-Med region comprises the 26 countries sharing the Mediterranean coastline, eight European Union countries – Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Slovenia and Spain – and 18 non-EU countries – Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, San Marino, Serbia, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey. A Euro-Med company is any business operating in any of these countries. As of 2009, total EU trade with the countries along the southern Mediterranean totaled €224 billion, 10% of total EU external trade.
ExpoGlobalOnline.com has established an agreement with Euro-Med TDS for Euro-MedExpoOnline.com, a regional platform for all the countries bordering the Mediterranean. Euro-Med TDS is an EU-supported multilateral business of national trade and services business associations and chambers of commerce throughout the Euro-Mediterranean region. The organization seeks to overcome all barriers to the free flow of goods and services throughout the region by bringing Euro-Med companies together for the development of trade, distribution and services.
